n the mountains of central Pennsylvania, just outside the borough of Curwensville, sits a miracle in the making. This miracle is Community Baptist Church. The church has seen God’s blessing since its inception. We have a beautiful facility located on eleven scenic acres.
It all started when a group of families desiring to reach the Clearfield County area with the gospel began meeting on Sundays and Wednesdays. On March 1, 1998 the decision was made to organize and start an independent, fundamental, Bible-believing Baptist Church. Brother David Cashman was called to be the pastor, and Community Baptist Church officially started in July of 1998.
At first we rented the old Methodist Church in Bloomington as a meeting place, and it was soon full and overflowing. When that building was put up for sale, the church was faced with a decision: buy that building or relocate. God’s hand of providence was quickly revealed when a local business man gave the church ten acres next door to where we were meeting. The building process began immediately, and on October 22, 2000, we moved to our present building. In May of 2003, the church called Todd Hogue to be the pastor.
From the onset, Community Baptist has placed an emphasis on missions. They presently support 28 missionary families serving in the United States and twenty-one foreign countries.
