Proverbs 28:25 says: He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be
Good Morning! Welcome to Community Baptist Church.
FAT. We all know what that means. With us all shut in, many of us may experience a side effect of COVID-19 - an enlargement of our waists! In the Army, we had a weigh-in about every 6 months, and we needed to be fit for service (or face being disciplined or discharged). The Army knows excess fat is unhealthy, and those found to be unfit are treated to an extra helping of exercise. In our text above, we are reminded the person that trusts in the Lord is fattened (or enlarged); meaning they will have all things in abundance. You will have more joy, more hope, more peace, more happiness in this life. This passage also reminds us of how much damage pride can bring upon our lives. One way to reduce pride is to exercise our right to call a dear friend and offer to pray with them. Perhaps during our regularly scheduled Wednesday night service, you can call a friend and listen to it together. Pray together. Help each other in this hour of need. Inform a neighbor or friend about our services on-line and encourage them to listen. We so desperately need the Lord right now, and many could use an extra helping of encouragement. Put your trust in the Lord, and you can be thankful when he makes you "fat!"

Dear Church Family,
I pray this finds you all full of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ! I am so grateful that in these times of uncertainty we can know the Lord is with us. As He promised, "lo, I am with you alway, even unto the ends of the world. Amen" (Matthew 28:20). Many of you can testify how the Lord has been with my family and I as we have ministered in the ends of the world. May I testify to you, that the same God that has taken care of us time and time again, will take care of us all again! "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). What He did yesterday, He will do today. We can be certain He will do it tomorrow. A great report from Kiribati this week as one of Abwai's relatives accepted the Lord as their Saviour and has been in church ever since! Also, several others responded at Ioane's funeral and they are following up with them. This Sunday several people are following the Lord in baptism. There are no cases of COVID-19 in Kiribati. Please continue to pray for their protection and provision in the days ahead. We are all well as a family and grateful for the Lord';s daily care of us. Please be assured of our prayer for you also. The Lord continues to be with us as we do what we can from home, This week I have been busy getting office work done and working with Abwai on the Bible Project. He has finished four Gospel tract translations and I am working with those that have agreed to print them. I also recorded an updated video for the church I was scheduled to present our family to. I am thankful that through technology we can still reach out to people and be a blessing! Please let us know if there is anything we can do to be a blessing to you.
Praising the Lord for His faithfulness,
